It does seem a while ago, but quite a few current Squash Club Memmbers originate from Kegworth Squash Club –
It might be appropriate to remember 2 of the original members there at its the opening in 1977 – Junction 24 I think it started off as.
Unfortunately both passed away recently in the same week
Alan Bond – who was a mere 71/2 was quite a shock. Alan was a fine squash player who devoted his later sporting activities to yachting and cycling.
Sympathy to his wife Ann and family- I understand his funeral is at Loughborough crematorium at 1130 on the 17th September followed by a service at Kegworth Church at 1230
Dave Allen was 84/5 and also a fine squash player. He married Pam and I understand he went downhill after her death. Sympathy to his family.
